When Monica Garcia came to the United States from Venezuela in 2016, she brought determination, resilience, and a deep desire to build a better life. Like many people pursuing a fresh start, Monica took on whatever work she could find while remaining focused on a future rooted in service, stability, and purpose.

Her community had been deeply affected by the opioid crisis, making access to stable career pathways and supportive opportunities especially important. While working in behavior therapy, Monica discovered how much she loved helping others and began imagining a future in healthcare.
